Tending to Our Roots for Sustainable Growth

I woke up between worlds writing this letter…
This winter has been about deepening my roots. I’m aware of I want to do, but I’ve had to pause and tend to the foundation so we can rise sustainably.
The willow outside the kitchen window at The Florrest has been speaking to me. It started blooming in February and is radiant now but a few branches stayed dry and brittle. After tending to it, I realized one of its roots was exposed and getting run over by the mower.
How many of us have roots exposed to people or spaces that aren’t aware they’re running over us?
We can’t grow radiantly when our systems are being harmed. We can either feel victimized
or ask: How can this be a gift? How can I grow from this?
I’ve been doing the same tending to my own root system. Honoring what this eclipse season, my birthday, and the birth of my nephew stirred up. I’ve been remembering my own births, connecting with my womb, my desires, and the life I’m here to create.💫
When I’m in the middle of something, I take time to unravel it before sharing. And then, when I’m ready, I speak. As a Projector in Human Design, I learn by living and distilling. I see patterns others can’t and guide when the invitation feels aligned.
Since November, I’ve been quietly doing the work; streamlining systems at The Florrest, preparing the land, supporting retreat leaders, networking, building, learning, and showing up.
The world is in chaos💥
This is your invitation to retreat!
To tend to your roots. To get stronger inside, so you can rise with clarity and create in harmony.
I used to see the willow as a crying tree. Now I see one that’s overflowing, dancing with the wind.
How are you tending to your roots?
With love,
Mena
